The task of an appellate court is to correct error. It is not enough that an appellant is disappointed with the result of a lower court decision. An appellant must demonstrate that there has been an error that falls to be corrected and which entitles the appellant to the orders or relief that he or she seeks.

An appeal that fails to identify any ground of appeal or any error in the decision below, and where the appellant has egregiously failed to comply with the Court of Appeal Rules, will be dismissed under r 43(2)(g) of pt 5 of the Supreme Court (Court of Appeal) Rules 2005 (WA).
